AND WE’RE A GO!

Winter Blues is live on Amazon and Smashwords with iBooks, Sony, Kobo, B&N and others to follow!

I’d post the links to buy but in all honesty my computer and I have had a very long day and we’re both waning somewhat dramatically, so let me promise that as soon as I have the other platforms on board I will post as a set.

Thank you!

*Hand over face*

It has been well over a month since my last post. Tut tut. But it’s been for good reason. I’m a busy, busy bee with my hand in many pots of honey, Pooh style.

Oh really?

Yes.

As well as dealing with my baby starting pre-school (le sigh) I have been editing a novel for a very good friend, writing a new British contemporary romance, and putting the finishing touches to Winter Blues. See? Honey. Everywhere. But alas, it’s slowing down, only for it to get busy again as I begin to prepare for the actual release date – currently looking at early December.

I’ll be posting teasers, and soon, the big cover reveal, and sticking true to my promise to post more.

And while I promise you that, you can promise me to add Winter Blues to your Goodreads TBRs. YAY!!

And here’s the link for you lazy lasses…

TEASER ALERT!!!

Firstly, two blog posts in one day? I really do spoil you!

Secondly, I’m reading Winter Blues through for the millionth time and getting rather excited. In my excitement I have decided to share a rather large chunk with you. I feel like this particular chunk shreds light on the story told as well as the voice telling it: Reid.

I hope you enjoy…

Cutting through the park in the midst of an uncomfortable silence, Darlene suddenly takes my hand. I’m so caught off guard by this that I actually flinch, but then the connection resonates familiarity and I cling to her hand as if it is the emotive warmth that is tangible rather than her slender fingers. She’s looking straight ahead, unaffected by this rare, sweet gesture. When I follow her gaze I see someone adapt their path to turn and meet us.

The first thing I notice about the guy is that he is tall and well-built. I mean, I work out, but this guy is full on muscles. I don’t know why I find it threatening, he’s a perfect stranger, but something about the way he regards both me and Darlene makes me puff out my chest and pull her just a little nearer.

“Pilgrim,” he says by way of greeting. I glance at Darlene for an explanation, but she just shakes her head in disregard for the name, or perhaps my curiosity.

“Hi,” she answers, waving pleasantly with her free hand before holding me a little tighter. “Reid, this is Blue from The Nest. Blue, this is my husband, Reid Daley.”

Offering his hand, he looks amused. “Reid Daley? As in, reading books daily? Don’t you work in publishing too?” The humor in his tone is forced and his handshake unnecessarily firm. I instantly recognize this alpha game and despite not knowing the reason for it, I accept. Commence operation ‘Who Has The Biggest Balls.”

“Yes, Blue. That’s my name. Unfortunately you missed the opportunity to call that observation your own a long time ago.”

“Damn.” His eyes harden a touch before he focuses his attention back on Darlene. She looks uncomfortable. She’s standing oddly close to me and her fingers are hooked tight around my hand. Is she frightened of him? No, can’t be. She was singing his praises just the other night. But I know for sure that I’m not imagining this tension between them.

“So, what are you up to this early? I thought for sure you’d be hungover,” he drawls while flashing a knowing smile.

“Was I that bad?” Darlene whines, hiding briefly behind her hand. She’s embarrassed. Did she really drink that much? I can’t remember the last time I saw her embarrassed after a night out. Probably not since college.

“No, you were that good.”

Excuse me?

I’m immediately on guard and Darlene knows it. She interrupts before I can say anything, turning to me to explain. “I got a little carried away last night, baby. When the bar closed a few of us stayed behind for drinks and I ended up singing and dancing on the bar. Oh God!” She squeezes her eyes shut as if mentally reliving it. I don’t know what to say.

“Darlene…” I’m shaking my head. I’m completely not okay with this but how do I say so without sounding like an overprotective ass, especially in front of this guy?

“Dude, she was fine, don’t worry.” Blue’s stance is so uncaring, so effortlessly nonchalant, that his words double in their annoying effect on me.

“Sorry?”

“She was in safe hands,” he adds, as if that makes me feel any better.

“She wasn’t in my hands.”

“Hey,” Darlene says, cutting through the tension like a high C. She turns a little to face me completely, consequently blocking out Blue. “Don’t worry about me. I was completely on top of things.”

“You should come on Thursday. It’d be great to see you supporting Darlene,” Blue says, his words holding a challenge, that again, I gladly accept.

“I will.”

“Great.” He tosses me a false smile before giving Darlene the real deal. “So, where are you headed?”

“I’m actually meeting Veda for breakfast.”

“Really? I’ll come with. She walked home in my jacket last night. Last time I let her borrow it she kept it for months.”

Darlene can’t hide the unease she feels at the new plans, not from me at least, but she attempts to. Why does he unsettle her so much? Heck, why does he unsettle me so much?

“Oh, okay, erm…I’ll see you at home later then,” she offers me, smiling weakly.

“Have fun.”

Not too much, though.

“You too.”

Tilting up onto her tiptoes she leans in to kiss me. This alone is a rarity but the fact that she is going for my lips rather that my cheek throws me off guard. Who is this kiss really for? Is is for us, or him? It’s territorial, like she’s proving her loyalties to me. Has he been hitting on her? At least I know that his efforts have not been well received. She couldn’t be more uncomfortable in his presence if he was naked. I know just how I can help.

Taking her face in the palm of my hand, I deepen the kiss, pressing my body to hers and holding her there long enough to feel the familiarity. My tongue flicks lightly against her cold lips and is immediately granted entrance. I’m almost shocked to the point of stillness, but at the presence of her tongue I am overwhelmed with recognizable heat. God, she’s not pulling away. I can’t recall the last time she didn’t pull away. I contemplate keeping this going forever, but when a deep cough intrudes, the moment is lost.

Darlene walks away with a true smile on her face. I want to cherish it, but when Blue offers her his hooked elbow and she accepts it I immediately deflate.

I hate him.

Update…

Hi, how are ya? Keeping well? Good, good. Weather’s crap, isn’t it? Never mind, weekend tomorrow.

Good. Pleasantries out of the way.

I’ve made the decision to publish exclusively through Amazon, for Forget Me Not, and more than likely, my next novel, Winter Blues, too.

I may very well celebrate this decision so keep your eyes open for news.

For further teasers on Winter Blues like my facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/jadegoodmore where I will be posting several over the weekend.

Coolio.

Speak soon my lovelies.

New Novel News

Okay. I’ll take the slapped wrists (or the spanking, depending on how kinky you are) for my extreme blog-slacking. Terrible, just terrible.

BUT!

Exciting news…Winter Blues is 99% finished and edited and that means I’m prepared to release the synopsis for all prying eyes to see and love. Please love…

I’m looking for an October/November release date but I’ll know more soon.

Soooo….

Winter Blues

Winter Blues is not a story of a love beginning but a love surviving. It’s a story of imperfections and frustrations. A story rarely told but often lived. A sometimes unpretty story, but then real stories often are…

Away from all that they know, all that brought them together, Darlene and Reid find the only troubles their marriage has ever faced in their new home of Chicago. They find a test of loyalties, of strength, of love, when all that they expected to find was their happy ever after.

Where Reid finds their new life a breeze, Darlene finds it a storm. Reid powers ahead in his new publishing job, reveling in his success while he fails at home. Darlene is jobless, friendless, and increasingly Reid-less; trapped in a perpetual winter when all she craves is the warmth she’s grown accustomed to.

She finds a little comfort in music which has been a huge part of her life, eventually performing at a local bar and striking up a friendship with the owner. That friendship threatens to expand into something more when everything Darlene is lacking in their marriage is offered to her by the irresistible Blue.

Will she deny the consequences and accept him? Or will Reid fight the odds and find a way to recharge their relationship?

Happy ever afters are for fairytales…

Big Update!

Ok, I’ve been slacking, but I’d hate to stray from what I do so well. Ha!

Whatever…what I’m here to tell you all is that the paperback of Forget Me Not is now LIVE on Amazon! This is the biggy. I’ve been waiting since the beginning of this entire process to get my hands on the paperback, needing to feel the physical proof of my year long journey, and I finally got that chance. I approved almost immediately and little did I know that Amazon sorted it within the hour. Bravo!

If you’re waiting for the kindle copy it should be there within the next forty-eight hours but I’m predicting a lot sooner. Yay!

So there are no excuses now people! It’s available EVERYWHERE! Massive love to those who’ve already brought it! The praise and support has been amazing and I’m honoured!

Slowly but surely!

Insanely happy to announce that Forget Me Not is now available through iBooks, Sony, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble! Nobody cared to tell me, bastards, but it’s available nonetheless! Which means that basically anyone  can download and enjoy.

For those waiting for a Kindle copy, Forget Me Not is still downloadable from Smashwords.com and can be downloaded onto your Kindle either by the use of a USB lead or by sending to your Kindle email address. It can also be read online for those without an e-reader. And if you still can’t be persuaded then you can hold out for the Amazon release. As soon as I can get my shit sorted we will have a paperback.

Thanks for the overwhelming support thus far. The reviews on Goodread’s have been tearjerkers and I’m so grateful. Slowly but surely I am getting there and I love having you all right there with me!

Forget Me Not is LIVE!

After much aggro attempting to format for the paperback release of my book, and a promise of a long wait, I needed a little pick-me-up. Here it is!

Forget Me Not is available to download through Smashwords, and as long as the Book Gods are in my favour it should be available though other outlets very soon.

Download, enjoy, and watch this space for further news!
